The beach
When you leave the gate of the complex, you are on the beach.  Immediately next to the complex lies the Kempinsky Hotel and furthermore the Beach Club Laguna Village.  Naturally you find here a beautiful cleaned beach with many possibilities.  Laguna Village has 30 exclusive stores, 3 restaurants, a pool and a tender service for yachts.  Naturally there are also many other beachclubs in the surroundings where you can have a lunch or a dinner or drink a delicious sangria.  
The beach is family friendly and never overcrowded.
Waterbikes are for rent, as well as beds and parasols.  Public toilets and guards provide comfort and safety.  
The area
There is walking distance to Estepona and its bustling cafes and many boutiques.
Estepona is one of the few coastal towns on the Costa del Sol which has retained its character and has plenty of Spanish charm.  This area is moving into the tourist industry but the town remains unspoiled.
As you explore the town you will come across local shops selling attractive merchandise, ceramics, crafts and leather goods which may tempt you into making a purchase.  There are restaurants with alfresco dining set out under orange trees, perfect for relaxing over a cool drink or enjoying a meal in a beautiful setting.  You can visit the Los Remedious Church, the Clock Tower, which was built in the 15th century.  There are also museums to enjoy including the Tool Museum located in the Bullring.
Alternatively the world renowned port of "Puerto Banus", with its designer shops, restaurants, bars and luxury yachts, is just a 15 minute drive from the apartment and the old town of Marbella a further 5 minutes away.
There are many excursions on offer which can be booked locally, aqua parks, fishing trips and dolphin spotting to name a few.  A great family day out can be found at the Selwo Safari Park with over 2000 animals from 5 continents, the path of the hanging bridges, largest zip-wire in Europe and many more.
You also have ski opportunities in the nearby Sierra Nevada and for the children there is the Safari Park as well as the Water Park as well as many other possibilities.
Mar Azul is located on the beach of the New Golden Mile between Estepona and Marbella and right next to the chique 5 stars Kempinski hotel and 1 minute to the Beach Club Laguna Village.  
The old centre of Marbella is only 20 minutes away.  The pleasant outbound center of Puerto Banus is a 15 minute ride and you have 45 minutes to Malaga Airport.
This area is also called Costa del Golf and there are many beautiful golf courses within 10 minutes, the most famous being the golf course Valderama in Sotogrande.
